Sam's First Thanksgiving

Mike and I usually travel during the holidays and spend Thanksgiving with our extended families. This year, with Sam less than 4 weeks old, we decided to do Thanksgiving at home. It took a little planning, a detailed grocery list, and a lot of teamwork, but we did it! Mike and I were in and out of the kitchen and nursery all day. We made an awesome dinner AND have lots of leftovers--perfect for the tired parents to get in a quick dinner together.

Sam's diet is a little less exciting--but regardless, nothing ends a meal quite like a good burp...

Bath Time

Now that Sam's belly button has completely healed, he's graduated from the sink bath to the tub bath. I'm not sure if Sam considers this an upgrade..he wasn't too happy about the bath! Sam is not particularly modest--the strategically positioned cloth was more for protecting Mom and Dad from any unexpected showers.

Clean, dry, and warm all was forgiven...

Sam: the first three weeks

The past three weeks have been very busy for Sam! We came home from the hospital on November 1st, and since then he's been eating, sleeping, pooping, and...well..not much else!

Sam's spent time visiting with his grandparents, had his first baths at home, and met his two kitties.

Sam had a "well baby" checkup at two weeks of age, and is very healthy. He's a great eater--already up to 7 lbs 9 oz! Mom and Dad are very tired, but happy that Sam is doing so great!

Check out photos of Sam's first three weeks:

He's Here!

Samuel Michael Nowak was born on Saturday, October 30th, 2010 at 9:07AM.

After 9 months of watching, waiting, planning, painting, cleaning, and organizing, we were ready for the big day. On my last scheduled day of work, one week before my due date, I started having contractions during the drive home. We started timing them when I got home, and Mike and I were at the hospital about 6 hours later. Sam was born the following morning--a happy, healthy 6lbs 6oz, 19.5" long.

Mike and I will try to keep this site updated with new photos and info about Sam--stay tuned!
